Create and publish an event

Outcome

You will create a bilingual event, set its venue and schedule in Asia/Yangon, add ticket types and zones with integer-MMK prices, review your prepaid-credit balance and publication warnings, save the draft, then preview and publish the event so it appears on the storefront.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the RushTik admin as an organiser-owner or organiser-admin.
  • Your account type must be direct_organiser, hosted_organiser, or venue_host, on the Starter tier or above.
  • The demo values in this guide come from the fictional RushTik Demo Events tenant (rushtik-demo, Pro tier). Do not enter real customer data.
  • All money in this guide is integer MMK. All times are in Asia/Yangon.
  • RushTik is always the commercial counterparty for ticket commission, even for Hosted Organisers. A Venue Host is never the commission counterparty.
  • Commission is collected from prepaid credit before tickets are issued. Issuance hard-blocks when the prepaid balance is 0 MMK or below; existing valid tickets are never affected.

Note: Starter tenants pay 5% commission, Growth 4%, Pro 3%, Enterprise 2%. The demo tenant is Pro, so the platform commission on a 35,000 MMK ticket is 1,050 MMK.

Steps

1. Open Events

In the admin sidebar, select Events.

Expected result: the Events list opens and shows existing events in a table. The New Event action is visible at the top of the list.

(see S01)

2. Start a new event

Select New Event.

Expected result: the empty New Event form opens with the Event details card showing the English and Burmese name fields, slug, schedule, venue, timezone, capacity, and fee-mode inputs.

(see S02)

3. Enter English and Burmese event details

Fill the event identity fields:

  • Name (English): Anawrahta Night Live
  • Name (Burmese): အနော်ရထာ ည ပျော်ပွဲ
  • Slug (optional): leave blank so RushTik derives it from the English name.

Expected result: both name fields show the demo event titles and the slug placeholder reads derived-from-name-en.

(see S03)

4. Set the venue and schedule

Fill the schedule and venue fields:

  • Starts at: 2026-11-14 19:00
  • Ends at: 2026-11-14 23:00
  • Timezone: keep Asia/Yangon.
  • Venue: Myanmar Convention Centre
  • Capacity: 5500
  • Online commission fee mode (ADR-014): Excluded — fee added on top of ticket price (buyer pays).
  • Leave Free-entry event unchecked — this is a paid event.

Expected result: the schedule, venue, capacity, and fee mode are populated, the timezone shows Asia/Yangon, and the form is ready to save.

(see S03)

5. Add ticket types, zones, capacity, and integer-MMK prices

Select Create event to save the basic event as a draft. On the new event's page, open the Ticket Types tab and the Zones tab to configure the offer:

  • Ticket type GA — General Admission, price 35000 MMK, zone GA (capacity 5000).
  • Ticket type VIP — Seated, price 120000 MMK, zone VIP (capacity 500).
  • Leave a Backstage zone (capacity 50) without a public ticket type.

Note: Enter prices as integer MMK only. Never use decimals, pya, or floats. Cash and box-office sales are always commission-free; the fee mode above only affects online MMQR purchases.

Expected result: the Ticket Types tab lists GA and VIP with integer-MMK prices, and the Zones tab lists GA, VIP, and Backstage with the configured capacities.

(see S04)

6. Review credit and publication warnings

Return to the event detail page and review the publication panel:

  • Prepaid credit balance: the demo balance is 2,500,000 MMK, which is above zero.
  • Publication warnings: confirm there are no blocking warnings before publishing.

Warning — prepaid credit hard-block (Rule 9): RushTik collects the platform commission from prepaid credit before tickets are issued. If your prepaid balance is 0 MMK or below, ticket issuance is hard-blocked. New ticket sales stop; existing valid tickets are never affected. Buy a prepaid credit pack before publishing if the balance is low.

Expected result: the publication panel shows a positive prepaid balance and no blocking warnings, so the event is eligible to publish.

(see S05)

7. Save the draft

Confirm every section — details, schedule, venue, ticket types, zones, and prices — is saved. The event remains in Draft status until you publish.

Expected result: the event status badge reads Draft, and all ticket types, zones, and integer-MMK prices are listed on their tabs without unsaved changes.

(see S05)

8. Preview and publish

Select Preview to open the storefront preview, confirm the bilingual titles, schedule, and ticket prices render correctly, then select Publish.

Expected result: the event status badge changes to Published, the storefront preview shows the live event, and the event appears on the public storefront list.

(see S06)

Troubleshooting

  • "Issuance hard-blocked" warning on publish: your prepaid credit balance is 0 MMK or below. Buy a prepaid credit pack, then return here and publish. Existing valid tickets are not affected; only new issuance is paused.
  • New Event button is missing: you are signed in as a role that cannot create events. Ask the organiser-owner to grant the organiser-admin role.
  • Slug already exists: the derived slug collides with another event. Enter a unique Slug (optional) value and save again.
  • Burmese name does not render on preview: confirm the Name (Burmese) field is filled with valid Burmese Unicode. The storefront uses Noto Sans Myanmar; do not paste Zawgyi.
  • Wrong timezone on the storefront: the admin stores times in UTC and displays them in the tenant timezone. Keep Timezone set to Asia/Yangon for Myanmar events.
